Who's who
"Fieldlink" means Fieldlink Aotearoa Ltd, a New Zealand registered company. "You" means the business that signs up for an account and the people in that business who use Fieldlink under your account.
Your account
You're responsible for what happens under your account. That includes keeping your password secret, adding/removing your workers in the platform, and the accuracy of the data you put in. If you suspect anyone unauthorised has accessed your account, email security@fieldlink.co.nz immediately.
Free trial
New accounts get a 14-day free trial of the full app. We won't charge you anything during the trial and we won't auto-bill you after — you choose whether to subscribe. If you don't subscribe, your data is retained for 90 days then permanently deleted.
Payment
Subscription pricing is shown on our pricing page. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Cancel any time — your subscription stops at the end of the current period (no refunds for partial periods).
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Fieldlink to:
- Break NZ law (including the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015).
- Send spam or phishing emails to your customers using our send-quote/send-invoice features.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract bulk data from Fieldlink other than via documented exports.
- Resell Fieldlink as a white-labelled service (talk to us first — we can discuss).
- Upload malware, illegal content, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section. Where possible we'll warn you first.
Your data is yours
You own every job, timesheet, photo, customer record, quote and invoice you put into Fieldlink. We make no claim to it. Our role is purely to host and process it on your behalf. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
You can export your data via the in-app export buttons (CSV/PDF) or by emailing support@fieldlink.co.nz for a full JSON snapshot.
No silly warranties
We work hard to keep Fieldlink running but we're a startup, not a bank. Fieldlink is provided "as is". We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what's described on our marketing site.
You remain responsible for your workers' employment, your customer relationships, your health-and-safety compliance, and your tax/legal obligations. Fieldlink helps with the paperwork; it doesn't replace your judgement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Fieldlink's total liability to you (whatever the cause) is capped at the amount you have paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g. lost profit, missed quotes).
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies, or any other non-excludable consumer right.
Ending the relationship
You can close your account at any time from the in-app settings or by emailing us. We can close yours if you breach these terms or don't pay your subscription — usually with notice. On termination by either side, your data is retained for 90 days then permanently deleted (you can request immediate deletion sooner).
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any dispute is to be resolved in the courts of New Zealand. We'd much rather work it out by email first — start with support@fieldlink.co.nz.
Changes to these terms
If we make a material change to these terms, we'll email all active account owners at least 14 days before it takes effect. Minor wording changes are reflected in the "last updated" date above.
